Chateau Brieann : Review by Diner101

Chateau Brieann!  – Review Short & Sweet by Diner101 Alright, I know it’s been awhile since my last review…but who cares anyway!    So I decided to visit a new little place on South Florida Ave., Chateau Brieann  (old Steak & Ale).  I can say this place has a much better feel than the old Steak & Ale!  Right off the bat, I noticed fresh paint and some good décor!  I decided since it was lunch to give the Chicken Wrap a shot, and let me say, this was a great choice!  The wrap was very good and was refreshing having sliced apples in it. The only thing I can say negative about it was the lime sauce, it lacked a bit of sweetness that would have put it over the top in my book!  My friend who I was with ordered some sort of sliced steak sandwich on Texas toast (yes, I ...

Hot for Harry’s! – Short & Sweet

OK, so decided to hit downtown this weekend and visit a well known restaurant!  Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grille.  Harry’s is a great little spot with a whole lot of character.  From the Bourbon St. type lighting to the old brick on the north side wall.  We were greeted with a smile and it passed over to the the wait staff and management! I’ll get right to it this week, the Jambalaya was very good, huge portion and really was enough for two, but it did lack that New Orleans kick. ( I love spicy food!) It had plenty of Chicken & Shrimp, but fell short on the sausage! (I can hear the jokes now! Lol)  The best was the Baked Stuffed Shrimp, it was delicious and had jumbo shrimp, lump crab meat finished with Louisiana beurre blanc!  Pricing is very affordable as well, the average plate is $15.99 (for dinner)  So ...

Review: Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion – Euro taste with Hawaiian flair! by Diner101

This weekend I decided to head out of the infamous Polk County and head over to the Tampa Area! If none of you have ever heard of this place, Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion off of Boy Scout Road, be glad I just told you!  This place is every sea lover’s dream! It’s where European techniques and Asian cuisine meet Hawaiian hospitality. We decided to try some sushi and their signature dish and let me tell you – AMAZING!  If you get sushi anywhere, go here!  It is the best sushi so far I’ve had to date.  We ordered the Lakanilau, Auntie Lei’s Aloha, and the Big Island Ebi rolls.  The Lakanilau roll consists of Wagyu Beef, Snow Crab, Tempura Asparagus, Avocado, Sesame Miso, and Truffled Greens.  The Auntie Lei’s Aloha roll has Spicy Tuna, Kaiware, Cucumber, Yellowtail, Salmon, Avocado, and Garlic Ponzu.  And last but not least the Big Island Ebi ...

Sandwich Factory – Short & Sweet by Diner101

I was headed home the other day and ran across this little Sandwich shop on the corner of Lunn Rd. and Pipkin.  The Sandwich Factory is a great little spot, the place is actually bigger on the inside as it looks small from the outside!  I ordered a Grilled Chicken Pita which was fantastic, Marinated Chicken with Provolone and they top it with some sort of Cucumber sauce which is out of this world!!!  Sandwich Factory has everything you could possibly want, from Cubans, to Reubens, to even Hot Dog specials for the kids! They also have Daily Specials for $5.00 Monday thru Friday.    I highly recommend trying out this little spot……you might be surprised!   Visit there website at:

Review of the week: Natalie’s Sports Bar & Grill – Short & Sweet by Diner101

Let me start by saying, I’ve been to this place a few times and to be honest the service was hit or miss!  But I can say this time was different!  I decided to go in and try these famous wings that everyone rages about in town!  As I pulled up in my car, first thing I noticed is the parking situation.  The parking lot is a bit tough to maneuver through and if it gets full you have to cross the street to park at a bank!  But that being said, I guess I could use the walk considering my fat size and lack of a fitness program!  LOL I decided to sit at the bar this time and right away the bartender was there to take my order.  I ordered a Left Hand (Stranger) and some of the Sweet Jalapeno Wings.  My order came out piping hot and within ...

Ohhh…Austria… bout a shrimp on the barbie?? (Diner101 Review)

Review Location: Outback Steakhouse Lakeland, FL Nothing like some old school Dumb & Dumber to make your day… I am writing a mid week review on my last two visits to Outback Steakhouse in South Lakeland! I went to lunch this past Thursday, and again for lunch today, and couldn’t go without mentioning what excellent service and food I received!  You see, I’ve been to Outback quite a few times and needless to say I hadn’t been to impressed with the food or the service, but I must say what a 180 degree turnaround from my previous experiences there!  The food was excellent, I ordered the Filet Focaccia Sandwich, Sliced filet, melted Provolone cheese and garlic herb aioli on toasted bread. Served with a side of au jus for dipping!  And they finally brought back those great sweet potato fries….one word: “YUM”  If you haven’t been to Outback lately, make a point to find ...
