When shots were fired near West 10th Street and Montrose Avenue late Sunday, a 16-year-old girl tried to leave the area. Neighbors said Alexis Michelle Gutierrez was shot in the back and collapsed about 10:35 p.m. on a front lawn on the 1400 block of West 10th Street. She was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Lakeland police said.
