This weekend I decided to head out of the infamous Polk County and head over to the Tampa Area! If none of you have ever heard of this place, Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion off of Boy Scout Road, be glad I just told you!  This place is every sea lover’s dream! It’s where European techniques and Asian cuisine meet Hawaiian hospitality.

We decided to try some sushi and their signature dish and let me tell you – AMAZING!  If you get sushi anywhere, go here!  It is the best sushi so far I’ve had to date.  We ordered the Lakanilau, Auntie Lei’s Aloha, and the Big Island Ebi rolls.  The Lakanilau roll consists of Wagyu Beef, Snow Crab, Tempura Asparagus, Avocado, Sesame Miso, and Truffled Greens.  The Auntie Lei’s Aloha roll has Spicy Tuna, Kaiware, Cucumber, Yellowtail, Salmon, Avocado, and Garlic Ponzu.  And last but not least the Big Island Ebi roll has Shrimp Tempura, Mango, Coconut, Cream Cheese, Avocado, and Habañero  Aïoli & Nitsume. If I had to pick one, it would be the Lakanilau Roll being my favorite, but they all were delicious!    Now the signature dish was the real treat, a great blend of flavors that was light and pleasant to the senses, Hawaiian Style Misoyaki Butterfish with Kim Chee Pickles, and Kim Chee Lime Fusion.  The fish just melts in your mouth.

If you haven’t been to Roy’s in Tampa, plan a date night or a night out with the girls or fellas and get over to this great spot!

Hope you enjoyed this Short & Sweet by Diner101!
