Winter Haven native Chris Blue has won Season 12 of NBC’s “The Voice”

Blue faced off against contestants Lauren Duski, Aliyah Moulden, and Jesse Larson in Tuesday nights’ grand finale. The Team Alicia Keys star performed an energetic cover of Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation” and wow’d the crowd through his stellar vocals and exemplary dance skills.
“Chris Blue has been magic since the beginning! I’m so grateful to have witnesses his unbelievable artistry week after week,” Keys posted on Instagram. Later she announced that she would be leaving the show after this season; most likely to tour.
To get to the final, Chris survived 26 competitive episodes, facing the top 24 contestants; all who had surpassed thousands of people that had auditioned for the show. The four final contestants competed against each other in the finale, where the outcome is decided solely by a public vote.

With the win, Chris has received the grand prize of $100,000 PLUS a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
