Details: Our first annual Mardi Gras celebration is making its debut at the well-attended, well-established First Friday event at Munn Park in Downtown Lakeland. This event draws 5,000 to 8,000 attendees each month. What great exposure! Guests will enjoy Mardi Gras themed music, food and drinks, raffles, prizes and giveaways, a stilt walker, fire blower, face painter and band-lead walking parade with Sheriff Grady Judd as our Grand Marshall. Sponsors may form a “Krewe” and help “bead the crowd” during the parade. Vendors will be entered to win a contest for best Mardi Gras theme!

All proceeds support Catholic Charities programs in Polk County: Agape Mission Markets feed children and families in key geographic areas of need. The Family Stability Program serves the working poor who experience a crisis and are seeking financial assistance to remain in their homes. Lakeland Activity Center for Seniors provides a safe place for at-risk seniors in our community to participate in activities, get a hot lunch and socialize with others.
