Admit it, parents. You’re rejoicing the fact that back to school season is around the corner. Soon you won’t have to break up as many bickering sessions, or think up as many snarky responses to the age-old comment, “I’m bored.”

The Downtown Lakeland Partnership and MIDFLORIDA Credit Union are here to help you celebrate with a back-to-school-themed First Friday celebration Aug. 7, 6-9 p.m.

Here are some exhibitors you’ll see and activities you and the kids can take in during First Friday:
  • Kiwanis Club of Lakeland will accept donations of school supplies for its annual “Stuff the Bus” campaign
  • Watson Clinic Pediatric Department
  • Explorations V Children’s Museum will be open late and have reduced admission
  • Polk Museum of Art – End of Summer art exhibit
  • Explore after school programs
  • Look for special giveaways and discounts for  Polk County educators

Fri. Aug 7th, 2015 – First Friday August – Back to School Edition

There will be lots of other activities and entertainment. Be sure to grab a bite to eat while you’re downtown, and stick around for drinks and desserts at one of our incredible restaurants and bars.
